EMT classes do not start for me until January 14, 2007. They go from 5-9pm on Monday's and Wednesday's at Weiss Hospital.

Weiss EMT program
I have found that the closest EMT class to Foster and Kedzie on the North side of Chicago is at Weiss Memorial Hospital. Their website is not completely up to date as of Dec. 2007. Here is the information from my experience.
Cost: The initial deposit is $495 and they DO NOT ACCEPT personal checks. They will accept Cashiers Check though.
I had to pay for the book and will need to pay for a lab coat too. The book cost me $51.99 on Amazon.com. It is called "Emergency: Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured. 9th Edition." The ISBN is 0-7637-4405-0.

EMT Chicago - About this Blog
I am currently a student at North Park University. I decided a few months ago that I wanted to become an EMT as a possible career choice.
This blog will follow my progress as I try to become an EMT in Chicago. If that goes well I may look into becoming a paramedic as well. But one step at a time for now :)
